First Fridays Tomorrow Night - Win $100

It's the First Friday of the month tomorrow!  We are having so much fun with the monthly tradition of First Fridays in Bixby Knolls.  So many people come out and walk Atlantic Ave. perusing the shops and eating at local restaurants. This month we will be giving away $100 to be used at Salvage Life.  Come by tomorrow night (Dec 6th, 2013) and be entered to win a gift certificate.  Make a purchase and get an additional two entries.  Tag us in a photo on instagram or check in on facebook for another entry.  We'll also be serving some holiday cocktails, offering complimentary gift wrapping and assisting customers with their personal wishlists.  We are located at 3712 Atlantic Ave. Long Beach, CA 90807 and the party goes from 6:30 to 9:30pm.  Hope to see you there!

 

A Current Affair Spring Show

Join us this Saturday for A Current Affair.  It's always a great show!  The vendors here have fantastic vintage that is relevant to what is in style and showcased in a modern way.  No musty smells, or tacking lighting here.  It's great for people watching too, you never know what celebrity you will see or what new trend you will spot.  I hope you will join us!

Salvage Life Moving Sale

If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw the photo I posted last week about a big announcement.  Salvage Life is moving!  We are in the process of moving out of our studio and looking for a retail location.  I really want to create a retail experience and grow the business in a new way as well as expand the online shop, but I just can't do that where we are located currently.  I have loved the space for two years and now it is time to let it go.  Since we will be needing to put things in storage while we look for a new space, I am clearing things out at a big moving sale this weekend.  Come to the studio (3941 Long Beach Blvd. 90807) on Saturday March 16th from 9am to 1pm.  We'll have tons of vintage clothes (many as low as $5), shoes, bags, furniture, books and more.  All of the items below are for sale and we will be adding more photos to a facebook album throughout the week.  Hope you can make it!

Salvage Life at UniqueLA...

We had a great time at the show last weekend! Our booth was packed with shoppers the whole time. I quickly snapped these photos right before it started on Saturday morning. People wanted to shop, so these aren't the best, but if you couldn't make it, you can get an idea of what it was like. We had a lot of clothing from the online shop plus some new ones, lots of jewelry made from recycled vintage pieces, embellished vintage bags, bow tie headbands, sunglasses and the $10 trunk! Big thanks to my trusty helper Camille. :)

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I am really excited about what is in store for 2010, both personally and with Salvage Life. 2009 brought a lot of change, starting with the birth of my daughter and then trying to adjust to motherhood and business ownership. R is almost 1 year old and we have both grown in leaps and bounds.

I am planning to share a bit more about my plans for 2010 soon, but first I want to show you some photos of our Holiday Sale taken by Julianna Cementina. Huge thanks to Julie, the owner of The Vintage Emporium for hosting our sale. It was so much fun!

Shows, shows and more shows...

Well it's been a crazy month or so with all the shows I have done. Our Holiday Sale season commenced last night with our Trunk Show at the Vintage Emporium. It was a huge success. The photos below are from the Long Beach Patchwork Show, which was so busy that I barely took any pictures except for two at the beginning and one at the end. I was so pleased by the friendly customers and it seemed that everyone who stopped in our booth found a gift or dress for a holiday party. In the top picture is the lovely Jacqueline who has been a loyal Salvage Life customer and the couple in the bottom picture we met at the show. Camille and I are in the center. Big thanks to Camille for being my faithful assistant and putting up with my poor scatteredness sense of direction, I couldn't have done it without her. Also, thanks to my brother Stephen for carting all of my junk to and from the car, and to my hubby Jeff for watching our little doll. Ok, this is starting to sound like a speech, but I am really thankful to all my family and friends that support me in pursuing my dream. Photos of the Trunk Show to come and if I ever get around to decorating for Christmas, I'll post some of those too.

PATCHWORK Long Beach TOMORROW!!!!

Patchwork Santa Ana...

Sunday was the Patchwork Show in Santa Ana. It's located in the parking lots of The Road Less Traveled (you can find Salvage Life jewelry there) and Harvey's Seatbelt Bags. It was a fantastic show! Tons of people came out and scored deals off the $10 rack, $5 trunk and discounted prices on our jewelry and clothing. I had so much fun setting up the booth. I have been using that old monopoly board at every show, I think I payed a dollar for it and it was a dollar well spent! Also, I loved using my new (actually very old, but new to me) dress form from Julie's lovely store, The Vintage Emporium. Have you been there? It's perfect! We will be having our big Holiday Trunk Show there on the 6th of December, so if you haven't been to her store, you MUST come. We will have lots more for sale. Also, Patchwork Long Beach is just around the corner on the 29th!

Handmade Brigade Holiday 2009

I wanted to share some pictures of the Salvage Life booth at last weekend's Handmade Brigade Show. We had some really great holiday wearables and gifts. Also, I reconnected with an old friend, Heather, who manages Seed People's Market, a really fabulous store at The Camp in Costa Mesa, CA that is dedicated to local and handmade products. If you missed us this time, there are still 3 more show this holiday season!

The Handmade Brigade Show at the Detroit Bar last night was fantastic! I had so much fun hanging out with the HB family and meeting lots of new customers! Salvage Life at the Handmade Brigade

What a fantastic weekend! Thanks to all who came out to visit Salvage Life at the Handmade Brigade on Saturday! We had a blast and our booth was a huge success. It was great chatting with long time customers and making new ones. For those of you who didn't make it, here's a little picture collage of some of our items for you to enjoy.
