If you live in the Southern California area, you are in for a treat on the weekend of the Dec. 11th and 12th.  Salvage Life is only selling at one holiday show this season and Unique LA is it!  We will have loads of clothing, accessories, bags, wallets, jewelry and more at discounted prices.  The $10 trunk will be there, as always...and I have a lot of great stuff to add to it, my office is overflowing!

Block Party Show & Owls Galore!

We had a show over the weekend and it was a lot of fun.  Here's a few photos!

I recently came across an estate that had a large collection of owls, I just couldn't pass up these cuties!  We sold out of the little ones at the show.  Owls seem to be the trend that never ends, I wonder how long they will be popular?

 

Even Ruby was shopping, she got this adorable little scarf, which I bribed her to wear by offering her a chip if she let me put it on her.

My sister Amy helped me out at the show which was such I treat! It was so fun spending the day with her!

Patchwork Show Long Beach Spring 2010

I had a great time at the Patchwork Show in Long Beach over the weekend.  It's always nice to sell in my own city.  Since, I'm getting a little tired of showing plain pictures of my booth every time I do a show, I thought this time around I'd show a few photos of my customers.

 

This is Tiffany, our first customer...she looks so great in this bright floral number!

The lovely Castine is a faithful Salvage Life customer, she comes to every show!  She found this cute yellow dress in the $10 trunk. 

Shoot!  It got so busy I forgot to ask her name, but she was another vendor at the show and she looks wonderful in this dress.

Salvage Life Goodies

Salvage Life is going to be at the Handmade Brigade's Block Party in Santa Ana on July 10th.  One of the things that is great about the HB shows is if you are one of the first 50 people you will receive a goodie bag filled with freebies and promos from vendors and sponsors.  Each vendor donates 50 little goodies or samples so the bags are loaded up with some great stuff!  This time around I made a little Salvage Life ephemera pack, it includes: one library book card holder with Salvage Life stamp, one vintage photograph, one Salvage Life sticker and one business card.  Hope all you locals can make it!

Salvage Life at Patchwork Santa Ana Spring '10

We had a great time at the Santa Ana Patchwork Show.  It was HOT but luckily we had a tent over us.  The highlight of the show was definitely the new fitting room that my amazing husband made for me.  I got to see so many beauties try things on, something you don't see a lot of when you sell online.  It was a wonderful day, thank you to everyone who shopped with us!  We have two more shows coming up in Long Beach on June 27th and Santa Ana on July 10th, so save the dates!

Patchwork Show on Sunday!

Salvage Life will be at Patchwork Show in Santa Ana, CA this weekend.  I am really looking forward to the show!  I haven't put in a ton of extra work this time around because I am trying not to be a complete stress case like I usually am at shows.  I am just planning to bring what we have in the online shop as well as some new items and everything will be 25% off.  We will also have A TON of, it's actually really out of control, vintage in the $10 trunk. Salvage Life at UniqueLA...

We had a great time at the show last weekend! Our booth was packed with shoppers the whole time. I quickly snapped these photos right before it started on Saturday morning. People wanted to shop, so these aren't the best, but if you couldn't make it, you can get an idea of what it was like. We had a lot of clothing from the online shop plus some new ones, lots of jewelry made from recycled vintage pieces, embellished vintage bags, bow tie headbands, sunglasses and the $10 trunk! Big thanks to my trusty helper Camille. :)

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I am really excited about what is in store for 2010, both personally and with Salvage Life. 2009 brought a lot of change, starting with the birth of my daughter and then trying to adjust to motherhood and business ownership. R is almost 1 year old and we have both grown in leaps and bounds.

I am planning to share a bit more about my plans for 2010 soon, but first I want to show you some photos of our Holiday Sale taken by Julianna Cementina. Huge thanks to Julie, the owner of The Vintage Emporium for hosting our sale. It was so much fun!

Shows, shows and more shows...

Well it's been a crazy month or so with all the shows I have done. Our Holiday Sale season commenced last night with our Trunk Show at the Vintage Emporium. It was a huge success. The photos below are from the Long Beach Patchwork Show, which was so busy that I barely took any pictures except for two at the beginning and one at the end. I was so pleased by the friendly customers and it seemed that everyone who stopped in our booth found a gift or dress for a holiday party. In the top picture is the lovely Jacqueline who has been a loyal Salvage Life customer and the couple in the bottom picture we met at the show. Camille and I are in the center. Big thanks to Camille for being my faithful assistant and putting up with my poor scatteredness sense of direction, I couldn't have done it without her. Also, thanks to my brother Stephen for carting all of my junk to and from the car, and to my hubby Jeff for watching our little doll. Ok, this is starting to sound like a speech, but I am really thankful to all my family and friends that support me in pursuing my dream. Photos of the Trunk Show to come and if I ever get around to decorating for Christmas, I'll post some of those too.

Patchwork Santa Ana...

Sunday was the Patchwork Show in Santa Ana. It's located in the parking lots of The Road Less Traveled (you can find Salvage Life jewelry there) and Harvey's Seatbelt Bags. It was a fantastic show! Tons of people came out and scored deals off the $10 rack, $5 trunk and discounted prices on our jewelry and clothing. I had so much fun setting up the booth. I have been using that old monopoly board at every show, I think I payed a dollar for it and it was a dollar well spent! Also, I loved using my new (actually very old, but new to me) dress form from Julie's lovely store, The Vintage Emporium. Have you been there? It's perfect! We will be having our big Holiday Trunk Show there on the 6th of December, so if you haven't been to her store, you MUST come. We will have lots more for sale. Also, Patchwork Long Beach is just around the corner on the 29th!
